The Nazca Lines are giant geoglyphs drawn on the floor of the Inca desert. These lines are from the pre-Inca era, between 300 and 800 bC Some have several kilometers long . In addition to the geometric shapes, we find a monkey, hummingbird , condor , dog , spider killer , herons and pelicans .
How are they made ? The floor of the Nazca desert is covered with pebbles that iron oxide colored gray . Removing rocks, Nazca revealed a gypsum soil it much more clear. Very dry temperature of the region , the fact that there is very little wind and the lack of sand helped keep the lines intact for over 2000 years.
